Top Ten Catches

Anchovies, menhaden and croakers are clearly the most "caught" fish by the methods used by ichthyologists (mostly seines and trawls).  The really big year for anchovies in 1997 followed the opening of the Bonnet Carré spillway and was certainly due to the increased nutrients (and subsequent algae bloom).
